As a singer and songwriter, Grant Brown was born, raised, and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. As a lifelong Clemson Tiger, Grant spent many weekends in Death Valley and on the water at Lake Hartwell with friends and family.
At a young age, Grant was given his first guitar by his parents where he taught himself how to play chords and was drawn to singing. He was part of his church youth choir, praise brand, and later, the lead singer in the band, Sloan Street Groove in college. Grant fell in love with performing for people!
In 2017, Grant auditioned for the Voice in Baltimore, Maryland where he made it to the final round of auditions. In 2019, Grant auditioned for American Idol in Savannah, Georgia where he received the coveted Golden Ticket to Hollywood, California. Surrounded by unbelievably talented artists, Grant was inspired to do more, put in more work, and increase his skill sets.
Raised on country, Grant’s musical idols include Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, and Brad Paisley, however; he also loves artists with unique sounds, clever writing styles, and catchy melodies such as Corey Smith and Jason Mraz. Some of Grant’s current inspirations are Quinn XCII, Kai Straw, Judah and the Lion, and TwentyOne Pilots.
Grant says, “songwriting and singing is a way to take my thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and put them into a song. It is a huge way for me to process things that have happened in my life.”
Grant’s dream is to play a show where every song he plays is his and the crowd is singing the words.
